This condominium community offers 56 units and is located inthe highly desirable city of Austin, Texas.
Challenge:
The state of Texas suffered a devastating winter storm in February 2021. The significant snowfall, ice, and below-freezing temperaturescaused this condo community to lose power and hot water. The board of director shad always depended on one boiler unit to supply hot water to the entirecommunity. As soon as the community lost power during freezing conditions, the water inside the boiler unit froze and ruptured all internals beyond repair.
Resolution:
The Associa Hill Country management team was quick to respond to the issue, communicating updates to homeowners, connecting with the insurance provider, and ensuring the community received hot water as quickly as possible. Unit owners and the board were pleased with how responsive management was in getting a plumber onsite to assess the situation. The plumber was able to bypass the boiler to get cold water supplied to the community. Associa Hill Country also provided the board with two water heater replacement options. The community could either replace the system with a similar boiler unit or update the system to tankless water heaters rated for outdoor use. After the board decided to move forward with tankless water heaters, the community learned that supplies were extremely limited and that there was a two-to-three-month wait. While this wasn’t great news, the community appreciated the fact that Associa Hill Country provided regular updates, opted for a more reliable system, took charge in filing an insurance claim, and saw the issue through.
The management team fought on behalf of the community to make sure that it received an upgraded system and that all losses were fully covered by insurance. As a result, the community has complete confidence in its partnership with Associa Hill Country.
